When you want to cook rice
As a staple side dish in my family growing up rice was the go to. My mother always cooked up a side of rice, white rice to be exact. I watched her, and one day I asked,“how do you get your rice perfect every time"?”. She stopped, showed me how to cook rice. At the time she didn't use a measuring cup but instead showed me a finger measuring technique. Well fast forward to me being a mom having a daughter that can cook, it was time to pass down the rice recipe. It’s easy math:
Double the amount of water to rice, so if you have :
1 cup of rice
2 cups of water
Start by boiling the water (add your fav seasonings to the water for flavor)
Once water is boiling add in your rice
Watch as the rice/water starts to boil again
Then cover and turn down stove to simmer
Let cook until fluffy
